Overview
In this sponsored video, TopView and the Seedance 2.5 video model are used to make a roughly 90-second explainer about how a video travels across the internet to your screen. The video walks through the whole process, from the script to the export, including what didn’t work.
Key Points
- TopView offers two ways to make videos: MCP, for automating generation from AI agents, and TopView Canvas, where you connect nodes and refine the results while looking at them. This video uses Canvas, because the work involved a lot of checking and fixing.
- The script, written with Claude Code, splits the video into 18 cuts of about 5–6 seconds, plus prompts for reproducing each character; a test character image in a simple 3D style was made with GPT Image 2. All 18 scenes were sent at once, and TopView created a scene card with a Seedance 2.5 prompt for each. Generating one scene cost 7.5 credits.
- The clips came out without narration, so the narration was generated separately and placed on the timeline. Characters looked different from clip to clip, the agent could not edit the timeline directly, and lining up audio and video by hand was tedious.
- Remaking the video as three 30-second clips kept the characters consistent and included the narration; this remade version is the demo shown at the start. The takeaway: generate about 30 seconds at a time instead of many short cuts. Separate audio is easier to replace but adds manual work.
