How a 21-Year-Old Used AI to Find Bugs in Google
This Short tells how brutecat, a self-taught 21-year-old hacker, used AI for bug bounty hunting on Google. brutecat collected Google's API discovery documents, extracted API keys from 60,000 Android APKs published by Google and from decrypted iOS apps, and built an AI scanning tool, limiting the AI to writing request bodies to reduce hallucinations. The findings included a flaw that exposed private YouTube videos, rewarded with $12,000, and bounties totaled $670,000 in nine months.

Rewriting SQLite from Prison
This Short follows a man imprisoned for a non-violent crime who became a database engineer. After five years he was allowed a laptop and limited internet access, began studying 16 hours a day, and eight months later landed a job building education software for inmates. Absorbed in SQLite, he watched Carnegie Mellon's database lectures, read academic papers, was recruited by Turso's CEO, implemented features such as indexes, foreign keys and transaction isolation, and is now a senior engineer there.

Studying AI Seriously with Stanford CS336
This Short recommends Stanford's CS336, a free lecture series on language models on YouTube, in which leading researchers show how to build a model from scratch. A 2026 playlist is available, and the videos can be watched with Japanese audio. Beyond watching, it suggests entering the YouTube URLs into Google NotebookLM, which lets you ask questions about the lectures in a chat and suggests questions to help you dig deeper.

Using Coding AI Cheaply with OpenCode Go
OpenCode Go offers open coding AI models such as DeepSeek for $5 in the first month and $10 after that. DeepSeek V4 Flash is so cheap that a month of light use cost nothing, and DeepSeek's Pro model may be roughly on par with Claude Sonnet 4.5, though its Japanese output felt weaker. Usage caps prevent surprise bills. The author canceled after a month, but suggests it for occasional users without a Claude Code or Codex subscription.

How to Run a Local LLM with LM Studio
This Short walks through running a local LLM. The author bought a Mac mini with 64 GB of memory and installed LM Studio, which manages local models and can start a local API server that generates text in response to API requests. Thinking mode stays off because it is slow, and Alibaba's latest Qwen models are a frequent choice. LM Studio can also be integrated with Claude Code and Codex, and because everything runs locally, it is free.

Finding Open-Source Vulnerabilities with AI
naoyashiga shares a workflow for finding vulnerabilities with AI, using the open-source project NocoDB as the target. The steps: clone a repository in a familiar language, have AI flag suspicious directories, review past vulnerability reports, write a specific prompt naming attacks such as XSS, and ask for a Markdown report with reproduction code. A human then verifies the findings, records the reproduction and shares it with the maintainers. Since starting this year, the author has obtained three CVEs.
